I am studying mechanical engineering at Oregon State University, and I love the idea of combining technical aspects of engineering with art. As such, I will be entering a scratch built neck thru guitar made entirely on a CNC router that I have at my house. The finishing process obviously will be done by hand, though. I don't really play guitar, though I do love listening to and looking at them, and recently I've discovered a love for making them. Last year during quarantine I made a stratocaster out of some maple and walnut that I got for free, having no idea what I was doing, but just jumped in the deep end. I'm very excited for my next build as it is an entirely custom design incorporating a mahogany and padauk neck through neck and a birdseye maple fretboard.
