I am a carpenter by trade and began building guitars because I couldn't afford more than a beginner guitar. Not wanting to build a typical guitar I turned to reclaimed and rescued wood. Oak from barns, cherry and walnut from fallen trees in peoples yards, hickory from truck beds even maple logs on the side of the road. Using the natural character of the wood, not hiding knots, distress, nail holes, imperfect grain etc. It has become an obsession and an awesome way to hang out with my son. Building guitars together.
