A few years ago I attended a scratch building course in Barleylands Essex taught by Bob Johnson of Legra guitars, at that point in my life I had been watching Crimson Guitars Videos for a while but it had never occurred to me that I could build a guitar, I primarily signed up for the course to get more experience setting up guitars. However I fell in love with building, despite no experience of woodworking, power tools etc my first build turned out pretty nicely albeit with some mistakes! I decided that I wanted to keep making guitars until I was good enough to make them for a living. It took me until I was nearly 40 to find a vocation that excited me. Due to an injury I was however unable to follow this dream or even play guitar for nearly two years, flash forward to now and I am fit and ready to get building again!
My build is going to be a slightly modified Fano SP6, I am hoping to make a few tweaks to things I don't like and add some nice touches which double up as things I have never attempted before (binding, inlaid headstock etc).
